4 Tips for Brighter Under Eyes

4 Tips for Brighter Under Eyes

Today I thought that I would share with you how I get rid of my dark circles. They are a massive problem for me. I get puffy and dark under-eyes which is so annoying. But this is how I mask my tiredness.

Tip 1

Get as much sleep as possible. This may sound really obvious but the more sleep you have the easier the dark circles are going to be to cover because they will not be as dark. I used to like to get 9 hours of sleep and this is still what I am for. It is happening less and less often now. Usually I get around 8/8.5 and if I get less than 8 I can really feel it. I can also see it in my under-eyes. Everyone needs a different amount of sleep so get whatever you feel works for you. I like to use the bedtime section of the clock app on my iPhone. This lets you choose how long you want to sleep for and in what time window you want to get this sleep. It gives you a notification half an hour before your chosen ‘bedtime’. This means you can finish up the episode on Netflix and head up for your evening skincare routine.

Tip 2

Eye masks, cucumber, ice. Anything that helps to de-puff. Puffy undereyes make your eyes look smaller and make you look far more tired. So anything that you can do to de-puff them is going to be your friend. I also find that puffy eyes are hard to conceal and makeup sits really badly on them. In terms of eye masks the Advanced Night Repair from Estēe Lauder these cool and hydrate. Giving you plump not puffy undereyes. Cucumber and ice will have a similar effect and are so much cheaper than the £10 a pop eye masks. There are obviously cheaper eye masks but Ice and Cucumber do the job.

Tip 3

Eye cream. This is your new best friend. Believe me. I am a recent convert and could not believe the effects.I have the Origins GinZing eye cream and it is amazing. I really couldn’t rave more about it. The directions on the pot say to use in the AM but I like to use it as part of my nighttime skincare routine. This is formulated with coffee so the caffeine makes you look more awake. I use it in the evening to try to stop my eyes from puffing up over night. This is also supposed to have other benefits as well like hydration and prevention of crows feet. I pat this into my undereyes as rubbing can do more harm than good.

Tip 4

Conceal then brighten. Easier said then done? Actually this is made very easy with my new favourite concealer. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer I bought this a few weeks ago and I am in love. No joke. It is amazing. I like to use this to double conceal I use Bobbi Brown tinted eye brightener these together brighten the eyes. The Nars concealer provides brilliant coverage without being too cakey and feels very light. I bounce both of these products into the skin with my beauty blender. This sheers out the concealer a bit and makes it look far more natural on the skin. Then you are done – eyes brightened.
